What is floating?

Floating or sensory deprivation is a state in which a person does not need for their body and mind to function for a short period of time. Floating gives you a feeling of weightlessness.

YOU SIMPLY EXIST!

Immerse yourself in water with a high degree of salinity, just like in the Dead Sea. The healing “bitter” or Epsom salt, rich in magnesium and other minerals, relaxes your muscles through your skin. There is over 30% of bitter salt in the bath. The density of water ensures that your body is floating on its surface, allowing it to achieve the state of complete relaxation since it cannot sink. Since you cannot sink, your legs and arms relax first, after approximately ten minutes. Your back and torso are the next to relax. Finally, after about twenty minutes, the most tense parts of the body, i.e. your shoulders and neck, also relax. Since the water temperature is the same as the temperature of your body, the completely relaxed body is able to “blend with its surroundings” Truly a feeling that you have never experienced before

Floating – a basic need of 21st century humans?

We live in the era of smartphones, where information is readily available at every turn, which we also fully exploit; in the era where the world has been flooded by social networks and the business world is marked by fast information that also requires fast choices; and in the information era accompanied by consequences of industrialisation, i.e. natural disasters and accidents. More than ever before, humans simply need a moment to live in PEACE.

And this is exactly what you can enjoy in the floating chamber, a medical device that was first developed back in the 1960s by a renowned scientist, inventor and neurologist Dr Lilly! A complete calming of your functions.

Our brain works on the basis of our senses.Senses provide our brain with information, on the basis of which they form an image, a taste or a feeling – in short, our perceptions. In isolation (sensory deprivation), without receiving stimuli from the environment, they are practically "helpless", since they have nothing to respond to.

The floating chamber ensures minimal stimuli, thereby allowing the brain to relax and take a short break.

An important additional bonus of floating lies in the use of "bitter" Epsom salt. This is a compound of magnesium sulphate that has been used for centuries in medicine and for external use (help with severe sprains and severe injuries – in the form of compresses), as well as for internal use (in the event of digestive issues such as constipation, for removing possible parasites from the body (in smaller quantities of up to 5 g, in the form of a beverage with added grapefruit or lemon)).

The positive impact of floating on humans

The beneficial effects of floating are confirmed by numerous scientific researches. According to experts, the lack of gravity relieves the central nervous system, the muscles and the spine, which mitigates the consequences of gravity. The energy thus released, in combination with increased brain capacity, increases the functioning of our internal regulatory system and contribute to the regeneration of the organism. One hour of floating is therefore equivalent to approximately four hours of sleep. Floating helps prevent and relieve stress, thus reducing the production of "harmful" hormones. What is it like to float in our centre?

For the first five minutes, you will be able to choose between various natural tones and change the colour in the chamber, which will allow you to get used to the chamber and make it easier for you to transition into the world without any external factors. If you wish to listen to sounds from nature or music, or even benefit from a full light therapy session, we will set up the operation according to your own wishes. We recommend you to close the chamber, which will give you an additional sense of intimacy and safety. Of course, this is not necessary. If you feel uncomfortable in small spaces, you can also leave the chamber open for the entire time – the choice is yours. However, we can also help you to get rid of this discomfort once and for all. If this is your first floating experience, we kindly ask you to arrive 10 minutes earlier. We will explain the operation of the chamber and possible individual adjustments, and also provide you with additional tips for a perfect experience. Recommendations: since the room with the chamber and shower will only be used by you, which ensures your intimacy, we warmly recommend that you use the chamber without a swimsuit. While your bath is being prepared, you can take a shower and dry (your face must be dry). After you finish floating, you will also take a shower and dry. In our relaxing corner, we will serve you some tea and invite you to enjoy in a relaxed chat, read a book or simply think. Standard floating therapy. For the first and last couple of minutes, floating takes place in the presence of natural sounds and light therapy. The Epsom bath will release all the tension in your body. Due to complete silence and darkness, your senses will relax completely, and so will your mind.

FLOATING WITH COLOUR THERAPY

You can choose a different colour background based on how you are feeling and what you expect to achieve with the experience. Colours have a powerful impact on humans and their perception. Certain colours soothe us, while others bring a boost of fresh energy. However, the personal aspect and your personal perceptions should not be neglected either. Based on your well-being and the desired effect, we will work with you to help you find the appropriate colour for your therapy.

FLOATING WITH SOUND THERAPY

The possibility of floating accompanied by various natural sounds such as the sound of the forest, the sound of rain, the sound of a babbling brook, etc. You can also float while listening to your own music. We are all different. Some are used to sleeping with sounds, while others prefer silence. For floating, you can choose from a wide range of natural ambient sounds, or you can bring your preferred music with you.

If you have a therapeutic recording, we can play your suggestion while you are floating. If you do not have a professionally prepared suggestion, we can also help you design and produce it.

FLOATING WITH A CHILD (OVER 11 YEARS).

Children are often restless and have a hard time concentrating. Purely unconsciously, the greatest stress is caused by electronic devices that are a part of everyday life. Concentration and focus increase with the help of floating therapy. Children become more calm and focused.

The pleasant aroma of lavender further alleviates stress and relaxes you. The aroma of rosemary helps further open your airways. The immortelle has a very special aroma of fresh hay and is great for the skin.
